I have had Nathan provide me a quote for some new fans. We were looking for a larger outdoor 120. Inch fan he happily took the time to find exactly what we wanted and provided a very detailed quote. We recommend supplying and installing our own equipment to ensure quality, compatibility and full warranty support. We may install customer-supplied products on a case-by-case basis, subject to suitability, compliance and warranty conditions. Product warranties remain the responsibility of the supplier or manufacturer.
How much does split system installation cost?
The installed price depends on the unit, capacity, placement and access. Pipework, drainage, electrical work and removal of an existing system can affect the scope. Compare quotes for the same equipment and included work; the unit’s retail price alone isn’t the full installation cost.
What is split system air conditioning?
A split system has connected indoor and outdoor units. A wall-mounted room system circulates air inside while transferring heat outdoors during cooling. It suits a particular room or open area; covering separate rooms may need a different arrangement.
Is reverse cycle the same as a split system?
They describe different things. “Split system” describes the indoor-and-outdoor arrangement; “reverse cycle” means the system can heat as well as cool. A split system can be reverse cycle or cooling only, so check the model’s functions.
How much electricity does a split system use?
It varies with the model, conditions and hours of use. The advertised cooling capacity is not its electricity consumption. Compare similar-capacity models using the energy label for your climate zone and your electricity tariff; actual running costs will depend on how you use the system.
Should I choose a split system or ducted air conditioning?
A wall-mounted split suits an individual room or open space. Ducted distributes air to several rooms through ceiling outlets. Compare the rooms you want covered, installation space, controls and the complete installed cost before choosing.
Where should the indoor and outdoor units go?
The indoor unit needs to distribute air through the occupied space without obstructions. The outdoor unit needs ventilation and maintenance access. Pipe routes, drainage, nearby windows and noise also affect placement, so both locations should be planned together.
What warranty applies to a new installation?
NDR offers a 10-year installation workmanship warranty on eligible new installations completed by NDR Trade Solutions, subject to the quotation and warranty terms. It covers defects arising directly from NDR’s installation workmanship. Equipment supplied and installed by NDR has the applicable manufacturer’s product warranty; product cover and workmanship cover are separate.
