NDR technicians working beside an indoor split-system air conditioner

Multi-head
split systems. Gold Coast.

Comfort for several rooms. One outdoor unit.

Bedrooms at night, a study during the day, or a living area everyone shares. NDR can plan a multi-split installation around your rooms, your routine and the outdoor space available.

Choose the rooms,
then plan the system.

A multi-head split system connects several indoor air conditioners to one compatible outdoor unit. It can be useful when you want cooling in separate rooms but have limited space for multiple outdoor units. Each indoor unit serves its own space, with controls depending on the equipment selected.

Start with the rooms that become uncomfortable and when you use them. Three bedrooms used together overnight need a different assessment from a home office used while the rest of the house is empty. Room dimensions, insulation, windows and sun exposure all help establish the capacity required.

NDR supplies and installs multi-head split systems on the Gold Coast. Tell us the rooms you want covered, any existing air conditioners and whether keeping outdoor equipment to one location is a priority. We can assess a suitable combination and explain the installed scope before you decide.

Match the whole system,
not just the room count.

The outdoor unit has a total capacity that is shared by the indoor units running at the time. The available output in each room depends on the selected combination and operating conditions. Choosing an outdoor unit involves checking the demand from rooms used together, rather than simply counting how many indoor units can connect.

Indoor and outdoor equipment must form an approved combination. Existing units cannot automatically be connected to a new multi-split, and spare connection ports alone do not guarantee that another room can be added later. Mention future plans while the system is being selected so capacity, compatibility and pipe routes can be considered.

The outdoor position also needs suitable airflow, access and room for servicing. A quote should identify the proposed units, controls, pipework, drainage and electrical work, plus any agreed removal of old equipment. If you are comparing multi-split with separate splits, ask for the complete installed scope for each option.

Excellent pricing, high-quality workmanship, and a very efficient installation. The entire team was professional and friendly—from the office staff through to the tradesmen and even the youngest apprentice. Communication was excellent throughout the process, the work was completed to a very high standard, and everything was left clean and tidy afterwards. I couldn’t be happier with the result and would highly recommend them.

A few questions,
before you book.

Room controls, shared capacity, installation costs and planning for more than one room.

What size air conditioner do I need for my room?

The right size depends on your room dimensions, insulation, ceiling height and sun exposure. Our team can assess your space and recommend the most efficient system.

Which air-conditioning brand do you recommend?

We install trusted brands including Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Midea, Mitsubishi Electric, Samsung, Daikin and more. We recommend systems based on your needs and budget.

Can you replace my existing air conditioner?

Yes! We can remove your existing system and replace it with a modern, energy-efficient unit suited to your space.

Do you offer free quotes?

Yes. We offer free, no-obligation quotes for air-conditioning work. Any diagnostic work or service charges are discussed separately before booking.

How much does a multi-head split system cost?

The number and size of indoor units, outdoor capacity, equipment choice and installation layout affect the price. Pipe lengths, drainage, electrical work and access also matter. Send the rooms you want covered and your suburb for a quote that identifies the equipment and complete installation scope.

Is a multi-split better than separate split systems?

A multi-split can reduce the number of outdoor units, which may suit a property with limited outdoor space. Separate split systems pair each indoor unit with its own outdoor unit. The better option depends on room usage, layout, available locations and the installed cost. NDR can assess those factors with you.

Can I set a different temperature in each room?

Suitable multi-split systems allow individual room temperature settings and let you turn off units you do not need. That does not mean every room can use a different operating mode. Typical residential systems operate in one mode at a time, so cooling one room while heating another should not be assumed. Confirm the controls and mode limits of the proposed model.

Can a multi-head split system heat as well as cool?

A compatible reverse-cycle system can provide heating as well as cooling. Heating capability depends on the selected indoor and outdoor equipment. Tell NDR if winter comfort is part of your brief so it is considered when the system is recommended.

Can I add another indoor unit in the future?

Possibly, but it depends on the outdoor model, available capacity, compatible indoor units and the installation layout. Include future room plans in your enquiry. Planning for an extra room now allows the team to assess the options before equipment is purchased.

What should I send for a multi-split quote?

List the rooms, their approximate dimensions and which ones you expect to use together. Include your suburb, existing unit details and any restrictions on outdoor equipment. A floor plan and photos of potential indoor and outdoor locations can help; send them to info@ndrtradesolutions.com.au with your contact details.
