I have had Nathan provide me a quote for some new fans. We were looking for a larger outdoor 120. Inch fan he happily took the time to find exactly what we wanted and provided a very detailed quote. Can you supply and install equipment, or install customer-supplied products?
We recommend supplying and installing our own equipment to ensure quality, compatibility and full warranty support. We may install customer-supplied products on a case-by-case basis, subject to suitability, compliance and warranty conditions. Product warranties remain the responsibility of the supplier or manufacturer.
How much does ducted air conditioning cost?
Cost depends on capacity, the rooms covered, duct layout, zones, controls and installation access. Two four-bedroom homes can need different systems and scopes. Compare a complete installed quote, including electrical work and any removal or replacement of existing equipment.
How does ducted air conditioning work?
An indoor unit conditions the air and distributes it through ducts to outlets in the rooms. A connected outdoor unit transfers heat. Reverse-cycle systems provide heating and cooling; zoning adds control over which areas receive the air.
Can I control each room separately with zones?
That depends on the design and controls. Basic zoning switches selected areas on or off. Separate zone temperatures need compatible equipment and controls, and every system has operating limits. The proposed zone plan should explain what you can control and which rooms can run together.
Is ducted air conditioning expensive to run?
Running costs depend on the system, the areas conditioned, weather, settings and your electricity tariff. Zoning can avoid conditioning unused areas when the design allows it. Compare the proposed model’s efficiency and estimated consumption; there is no single hourly cost that fits every home.
Can ducted air conditioning be installed in an existing home?
Often the key question is whether there is suitable space and access for the indoor unit and ducts. The number of storeys, ceiling layout and outdoor unit location all matter. An assessment is needed before confirming the installation layout.
Is ducted better than individual split systems?
Ducted may suit a plan covering several rooms, with outlets integrated into the home. Individual splits let you address particular spaces. The better fit depends on coverage, available installation space, control preferences and the complete cost of each option.
Can the old ductwork stay when a system is replaced?
Possibly, but it needs assessment. Duct condition, sizing, airflow and compatibility with the replacement system all matter. A replacement quote should distinguish the equipment being changed from any ducts, outlets or controls proposed for reuse.
What warranty applies to a new installation?
NDR offers a 10-year installation workmanship warranty on eligible new installations completed by NDR Trade Solutions, subject to the quotation and warranty terms. It covers defects arising directly from NDR’s installation workmanship. Equipment supplied and installed by NDR has the applicable manufacturer’s product warranty; product cover and workmanship cover are separate.
